Sovereign Indigenous State
The Echadi Nation Republic (ENR) stands as a living testament to Indigenous sovereignty and ancestral covenant. We affirm, clearly and without compromise, that ENR is not a micronation. Rather, it is a Sovereign Indigenous State, organized and governed in accordance with international law, natural law, and the enduring rights of Indigenous Peoples.
Micronations are often symbolic or hobbyist projects that lack permanence, governance, or recognition in the family of nations. ENR is categorically distinct. We are a nation of people bound by heritage, covenant, and law, building lawful institutions, administering territory, and exercising the full measure of self-determination recognized in international frameworks.
ENR meets the four qualifications of statehood as defined by the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States (1933):
Permanent Population ENR consists of a defined community of Nationals established through lawful nationalization, Indigenous birthright, and ancestral identity. This population forms the living covenant of the Nation.
Defined Territory ENR administers lands through trust holdings, leases, and private use declarations. These lands are sacred, sovereignly recognized, and serve as the foundation of our autonomy, with the capacity for expansion as new territories come under ENR stewardship.
Government ENR operates under a ratified Constitution that creates an organized and functioning government. This includes an Executive led by the Chief, a Legislative body empowered to enact statutes, and a Judicial branch through the Jural Society High Court. Supporting these branches are Ministries, a National Treasury, and Councils that ensure stability and accountability.
Capacity for Relations ENR maintains the recognized capacity to enter into relations with other states, Indigenous nations, and international institutions. Through the Ministry of International Affairs, ENR communicates, negotiates, and establishes treaties and agreements that protect the interests of its Nationals and advance the Nation’s place in the international community.
ENR’s sovereignty is not only grounded in the Montevideo framework but is reinforced by modern international law:
United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) affirms the inherent right of Indigenous Peoples to self-determination, governance, and control over their political, economic, social, and cultural systems. UNDRIP recognizes that Indigenous Nations hold the right to maintain their institutions while engaging freely with other nations on a basis of equality.
International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) enshrines, in Article 1, the principle that “All peoples have the right of self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development.” This covenant, binding upon signatory states, obligates recognition and respect for the rights of peoples such as ENR to chart their destiny in accordance with their will.
Together, these instruments affirm that ENR’s existence as a sovereign Indigenous state is not symbolic, but lawful, legitimate, and internationally grounded.
The Echadi Nation Republic is dedicated to:
Building Institutions of Sovereignty From the Treasury to the Cultural Center, ENR develops strong internal governance that reflects both modern administrative standards and Indigenous traditions.
Engaging in Diplomacy ENR is committed to forming relations with Indigenous Nations, states, and international bodies, advancing peaceful coexistence, cooperation, and mutual recognition.
Protecting and Empowering Nationals ENR ensures that its people are defended under tribal law, international law, and natural law, affirming their rights, dignity, and prosperity.
Honoring Ancestral Covenant At the heart of ENR lies a sacred responsibility: to preserve the identity, culture, and spiritual foundation of the Nation for generations to come.
By the standards of the Montevideo Convention, the rights affirmed in UNDRIP, and the protections guaranteed under the ICCPR, the Echadi Nation Republic is a Sovereign Indigenous State under international law.
We are not a micronation. We are a Nation of People, a Government of Laws, and a Territory of Heritage. We are committed to the protection, prosperity, and autonomy of our Nationals in alignment with ancestral covenant and international norms.
The Echadi Nation Republic walks boldly in the present while carrying forward the sacred trust of the past, building a lawful and sovereign future for generations to come.
